Service Works "Up On Top" Newsletter
January 2015
It's another new year and it's shaping up to be a good one. Construction spending is up and capital budgets for improvements are funded.

In the roofing market place there are some exciting new developments. Materials pricing appears to be stable and the manufactures are at full capacity.

Rebates for Energy Star Rated systems remain in place but the big power providers are not committing for how much longer. If you are looking to take advantage of a rebate you might want to act sooner rather than later.

Solar installations are increasing due to the rebates that are available on the state and federal level. Also the up front costs for solar are continuing to drop due to increased manufacturing and demand.

We hope that everyone has a prosperous New Year with more to come.

2015 Resolutions

It's that time of the year when everyone makes their New Year's resolutions. Lose weight, exercise more, eat better, quit smoking. All great resolutions. But how about your roof?

Here are our recommendations for the top roof resolutions for 2015:

Initiate a Preventative Maintenance program for your roof. This inexpensive program will find and fix all of your roof's minor problems before they become major problems. A comprehensive preventative maintenance program can cost just pennies a square foot but can save tens of thousands of dollars and push back the capital expense of a reroof.

Proactively manage your roof. Take charge of this valuable asset and it will pay off with fewer problems, less disruption, and will help extend the useful life. Studies have shown a properly managed and maintained roof system can extends its life by 30-50%

Time For An Inspection?

The first of the year is always a good time to do roof inspections. The NRCA recommends two a year, one at the start of the year and one at mid year. A comprehensive roof inspection will insure worry free service from your roof system, and maintain your compliance with any manufactures warranties. But the biggest benefit is that it can detect and remedy small problems so they do not become big problems.
